Sales Engineer / Pre-sales Consultant
As a member of the Business Development team, you will serve to coordinate our pursuits in the field of engineering and consultancy services for Nuclear energy and decommissioning markets. The primary function of this role is to assist the business development team during the pre-sales process to identify and define client needs, help prepare and review all pre-sales documents, coordinate and support sales technical activities to ensure they meet the exact needs of the prospective client.
Having responsibility for supporting and management of key accounts, for the right candidate, you will become a key influencer to the senior and executive leadership team, concerning service delivery and business development strategy.
Primary Responsibilities;
• Works closely with Bid Manager and members of the bid team to produce client facing output.
• Understands business issues and drivers in our industries
• Responsible for visiting clients, presentation of our capabilities & services at client meetings or marketing events
• Establishes personal rapport with existing & prospect clients and other industry partners to understand, identify and capture current and future service requirements and respond to specific technical questions by filling the role of primary technical sales specialist and technical contact for projects
• Is the technical knowledge expert with regards to our capabilities and technical elements for RFI/RFP requests
• Conducts value-based capability demonstrations when necessary, and assists in removing obstacles that may exist during the sales cycle
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience;
• Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and experience in engineering, information systems, or business administration
• Five years of industry experience, including two or more years in sales engineering or consulting
• Proven technology skills, outstanding interpersonal abilities, and strong written and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail, plus analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Positive, service-oriented personality
• Willingness to travel
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail required with ability to work quickly and efficiently
• Presentation skills
• Knowledge of business and administration duties
• IT proficiency in all versions of Microsoft Windows and Office

Senior Modelling Engineer

Reporting to the Head of Simulation and Modelling, the Senior Modelling Engineer is a highly visible role internally and externally. You will provide focus and credibility to the Technical and Delivery functions of the business and manage the continual professional development of processes and resources. As a Modeller, your depth of expertise and thought leadership will be highly recognised and you will represent the organisation externally on Customer forums and as a client facing Business Development advisor. Internally you will use your expertise to lead and inspire the Technical and Delivery teams to drive revenue and sales to achieve the DBD Group vision and mission.
Are you a degree qualified and experienced Senior Modeller (or Senior Engineer/Scientist with a strong modelling background) with proven experience, preferably from an engineering and/or project delivery background and ideally from the Nuclear Industry but this not essential. You may currently be a Senior Modelling Engineer in an organisation of a similar size where you feel constrained by bureaucracy and long to join a dynamic, nimble and flexible values-driven organisation where your expertise can be fully utilised. Some international travel may be required.
We seek a pragmatic and non-hierarchical team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills who can build key relationships and engage with stakeholders internally and externally. Professional confidence and cultural awareness are important as you represent the Company with clients. You will lead by example, with integrity and respect, inspiring and motivating your team to be #Different by Design.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant Engineering or Physical Science (postgraduate degree preferred).
• 5+ years of relevant industrial experience.
• Demonstrated experience with modelling/simulation software e.g. gPROMS, Simul8, ACM, MatLab, FlexSim.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate at multiple levels of the organization.
• Good track record of task delivery.
• Knowledge and experience of business development activities.
• A strong understanding of the commercial aspects of project delivery.
• Experience of work within the nuclear or similar regulated industry.
• Ability to work alone and in teams.

Senior Safety Assessor
Reporting to DBD’s head of Safety, Security & Environment, you should possess a significant level of experience and knowledge and be able to take a leading role within the company both in business development and delivery activities, having led and successfully delivered work packages to time and cost. This individual is expected to act as a role model within the company and someone who others look to for guidance and expertise in their field both internal and external to DBD.
You will provide information and resource to assist the Head of Safety in delivering DBD’s Safety Authority role by supporting Project teams on nuclear, radiological and conventional safety technology and / or provide environmental support to Project teams. You will also provide support and information to the Head of Safety concerning current employee safety requirements within the working environment and on environmental regulatory requirements as appropriate.
As a Senior Safety Assessor, you are expected to maintain the technical competence and capability of the DBD technical and safety teams. It should be ensured that the capability is adequate to meet current delivery requirements and anticipate the strategic and future delivery needs of the business. Responsible for identifying the appropriate Technical Safety resources required for the delivery of your work and ensuring that the team is suitably qualified and experienced.
Degree or equivalent qualification in Nuclear Safety or related discipline.
The individual should be Chartered. A higher grade of membership of a relevant institution (e.g. Fellow of IChemE) is desirable.
Should possess an understanding of the impact of commercial issues on project delivery.
IT proficient with experience in the use of Microsoft Windows and Office suite of programmes. Knowledge of relevant software (e.g. CFD, modelling, or specialist calculation software) may be an advantage.

Project Support Officer
We are looking for a project support officer, a pro-active, self-motivated, organised individual to join the Project Management Team. The PSO would be responsible for project tender support, project control activities and project quality documentation. Responsibilities will grow with experience, while following a path of continuous professional development. With the ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing. Degree level education in maths, science, engineering or related analytical discipline (or equivalent work experience of 2+ years in a project-based environment).
Primarily responsible for the following:
• Supporting project manager in assigned projects, as well as effectively managing small to medium sized projects
• Maintaining effective communication between the project management team and other project stakeholders
• Attending project meetings and, when required, produce suitable minutes for issue to the project stakeholders
• Producing, monitoring and reporting project costs, progress, and forecasts to the project manager on an agreed timescale, e.g. weekly, bi-weekly, etc.
• Producing project quality documents in a timely manner at project inception and ensuring they are maintained for the duration of the project
• Ensuring the project filing system is maintained by performing internal audits when required
• Providing scheduling and cost estimate support to the business development team during the project tender phase, in support to the project manager
• Supporting project management processes, including and not limited to Learning from Experience (LFE) register, Risk Registers, resource management
Additional responsibilities may include;
• Ensuring project documents are submitted to clients in the agreed manner, with correct documentation; for example, with appropriate export licence
• Make travel arrangements for project visits, ensuring that these arrangements are communicated effectively through an itinerary when required.
• Work towards appropriate professional qualifications, e.g. APM, Prince2, etc.
